Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s ambitious $500 billion city project, NEOM, is set to witness a significant workforce expansion, with numbers expected to surpass 200,000 by 2025. 

This marks a 43% increase from current levels, a key phase in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative to reshape its economy.

NEOM’s global appeal was evident as over 100 leading construction firms from around the world converged in the northwest of Saudi Arabia for a two-day industry forum. 

This gathering underscored NEOM’s growing importance as it embarks on its most intense development phase yet. 

Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, reiterated the vast opportunities available: 

“As we enter our most active development phase, the opportunities across NEOM are colossal. We are eager to partner with internationally renowned contractors to realise NEOM’s vision.”

The forum provided a platform for participants to gain firsthand insights into the upcoming opportunities in NEOM. 

They were given tours of project sites, witnessing the ongoing construction efforts. 

The event also facilitated crucial one-on-one meetings, fostering in-depth discussions on specific business prospects. 

This allowed contractors to showcase their services and capabilities, highlighting the unique opportunities NEOM offers for collaboration.

The mix of local and international firms from regions such as Asia, Europe, North America, and North Africa highlighted the project’s current and future developments, transitioning NEOM into the next phase of its extensive portfolio.
